Keystone condos
Condos in Keystone are a very large segement of the Keystone real estate market. Keystone is comprised of several different neighborhoods. The closest to the lifts is the River Run Village neighborhood. This is the central Keystone ski village, with the gondola being very close to most condominiums. The majority of the condo buildings were built between 1992 and 2000 and are pretty typical Vail and Intrawest ski condos. If you have been in similar buildings at Copper Mountain and Winter Park, they will look very familiar. When ownership is transfered, a 2% Neighborhood Fee is due on sale, and who pays it is negotiable. Among the condos in River Run are Buffalo Lodge, The Dakota, Expedition Station, Silver Mill, Black Bear Lodge, Arapahoe Lodge, River Bank Lodge, Mill Creek Inn and Jackpine Lodge. The Springs and Red Hawk were built a little later but are a part of River Run. Across the river, right at the very base of the River Run is Lone Eagle and The Timbers, two very high end condo complexes. In 2008 the Gondola was moved across the River, closer to the Village. The Summit Express lift is still in its old location.
The Mountain House Village is the original base area, where the Peru and Argentine lifts come to the bottom. Here you will find Key Condo on the road from River Run, with Slopeside and Chateau d’Mont very close to the lifts. Across the Snake river, still within walking distance, is the Mountain View Neighborhood, with Cinnamon Ridge, Liftside, Ski Run, Snowdance, Snowdance Manor, Gateway, Oro Grande, Tenderfoot Lodge and Hidden River Lodge. There are also townhomes in this neighborhood which are covered under the Keystone townhomes page.
Ski Tip Lodge and Trapper’s Crossing are in the Ski Tip neighborhood, just east of River Run. Further east are more townhomes and single family homes.
The Keystone Village neighborhood is very popular in the summer, as the condo buildings surround the lake where paddleboats and ducks provide entertainment. In the winter is it used for ice skating. It also has access with a tunnel that crosses under Highway 6 to the Conference Center, so rentals can be good year round in this area. Condos here consist of Argentine, Decatur, Edgewater, Lakeshore, Lakeside, Lenawee, The Mall, Montezuma, Plaza and Willows.
The Forest Neighborhood is primarily shuttle access to the ski resort, but the shuttle runs frequently, and is free. Across the road from the Keystone Village Neighborhood is Quicksilver, Tennis Townhomes and Sts John. Further west, and on the south side of the Snake River is a large area of condos called The Pines. The separate buildings are all named after pine trees; Loblolly, Lodgepole, Foxtail, etc. The Homestead, a small complex, is also in this area, near the Keystone condo checkin building. Down Soda Ridge Road, toward the stables, are Soda Spring, Starfire, Flying Dutchman, Keystone Gulch and Wild Irishman, together with some townhomes and single family homes.
At the new River Golf Course, you will find Elk Run Villas.
If the condo complex you are looking for is not mentioned here, check the townhomes. Keystone has many buildings that are a blend between the two, with a one bedroom condo on the first level and a townhome style condo on the second and third levels. It makes for some confusion in how to categorize them, but I have most of them in the Townhome section.
Whether you want a secluded condo in the woods, or one right at the base of the ski area, Keystone most likely has what you are looking for.
