Silverthorne condos
Condominiums in Silverthorne are primarily in the Wildernest area. Wildernest is not actually in the town of Silverthorne, but it is in the general vicinity, and we generally refer to it as being part of Silverthorne. It is also where you will find the best value in Summit County as far as the amount of space for the money. Occasionally I have people comment that they don’t like the road going up to it, and that tells me that they are from the flatlands! The road, while winding, is actually not bad, and Wildernest ploughs it constantly in the winter. They spread a lot of sand, and it seldom is slippery and hard to negotiate.
Wildernest condominiums range in age from early 1970s to brand new. Sizes are from studios to 3 bedroom condos, with townhomes and duplexes that are larger still. The plusses for this neighborhood are a good central location, great views and access to the many hiking and snowshoe trails in the National Forest that surrounds it. Among the complexes in Wildernest are Treehouse, Silver Queen East and Silver Queen West, Salt Lick, Buffalo Ridge, Buffalo Village, Gore Trail, Snowscape, Sundance, Deck Gore Range, Snowbird, New Lamartine, Summit Point, Aspen Shadows, Watch Hill, Timber Ridge, Retreat at Wildernest, Trailhead, Buffalo Woods, Prospector Village condos and Mountain Country. If a complex you are familiar with is not listed here, check the townhomes section as it is possible it is there.
Be aware that if you want to rent your condo when you are not using it, that you will need a hot tub or access to one in order to have the best rental numbers. Many management companies won’t accept the condo in their program unless you have that access. Condos that do have them are Snowscape, Treehouse, Buffalo Ridge, Timber Ridge, Buffalo Village, Salt Lick, Gore Trail and Watch Hill. A few complexes allow individual hot tubs, but that is mostly in townhome buildings.
Silverthorne condos are Rainbow Village and Retreat on the Blue (on the river). A new complex in the process of development is Blue River Crossing, across the river from the Silverthorne Pavilion. Silverthorne has a lot of townhomes, so check that section too.
