Ten Years of Summit County Home Prices
The Summit County real estate market snapshot of the last ten years of home sales is interesting to see.
In 1997 the average Summit County sales price was only $217,541. It has been increasing, almost always by more than 10%, to reach 2007’s average sales price of $552,608. The more than doubling of the average sales price over the last ten years doesn’t mean every individual property in Summit County has seen the same type of appreciation. The highest sales price in Summit County reached $5,500,000 in 2007. Sales in that price range will definitely be affecting the overall average sales price, driving it higher and higher.
The table below shows the number of transactions and the average sales price in Summit County for each year back to 1997. It also shows how the average sales price for that year compared to the average sales price the year before. Over the ten year period Summit County’s average sales price has increased by 10% a year.
Summit County includes the towns of Silverthorne, Frisco, Dillon, Keystone, Copper Mountain and Breckenridge.
The numbers in the table above reflect Summit County sales that have been recorded in the Summit County MLS. These numbers may not reflect 100% of the sales activity during this timeframe.
