The Summit County homes bus tour starts in Frisco
It is Saturday night, and flipping through TV channels I find a show I haven’t seen before
about real estate bus tours of homes that are good deals. One show, set in Stockton, California, had some homes that were listed for sale at about 40% of their original sales prices. Their market must really be depressed as the prices of the homes were very reasonable and California is not known for affordable prices! The next episode, in Dallas, Texas, had homes with savings of $20,000 to $150,000 off original list price. It started me wondering which homes would qualify for such a tour if we were to have one in Summit County. Just the town of Frisco alone gave me enough to fill up this blog post. We can’t match the California prices, but I did a little searching and came up with a few similar to the Dallas savings, so here is your virtual bus tour….all aboard!
First on the list, a three bedroom condo in Frisco for less than $300,000. Originally listed last year at $385,000, this renovated condo with two bathrooms and great views is now priced, furnished, at $299,000. The complex, Ten Mile Creek, is a block from Main Street, and it has a large clubhouse with a pool and hot tub, so the condo is very suitable for short term rentals.
Also in a complex with a good clubhouse, tennis courts and both indoor and outdoor hot tubs, a Mountain Side 1 bedroom/loft condo, originally listed at $395,000, is now priced at $329,500. Vaulted ceilings with a skylight, a sunny, southfacing deck and wonderful mountain views are just a few of the reasons this could be your favorite spot for apres ski. Summer hiking and biking trails are nearby and the clubhouse pool will be well used in the summer.
Prefer a little more privacy than a condo will give you? A duplex, also just off Main street in Frisco, is now listed at $625,000 after starting at $779,000. This three bedroom, three bath condo with a family room and one car garage has plenty of space to spread out. The southfacing deck comes complete with its own hot tub and nice views. Enjoy all the summer events the Town of Frisco holds on both Main Street and at the Marina. Ride your bike to the Fourth of July events, stroll down the street to the Barbeque Challenge or play tennis on the public courts less than a block away.
$100,000 is the price reduction on a Legends at Frisco home. This brand new duplex was recently reduced to $749,000. Just two or three blocks from Main Street, this small complex is being built by Campbell Construction, known for the quality of their construction and finishes.
An even bigger savings of almost $200,000 is available on a high end single family home in The Reserve at Frisco. Originally priced at $1,199,000, this home is now $1,000,000 even. The owners have found another home they would like to buy and want to sell this one complete with furniture (except for some antiques). At 2856 square feet, with 4 bedrooms and 3 baths and an outdoor hot tub, this home might be perfect for your vacation home or full time residence.
If you are a bargain hunter, get on the bus and take a look to see what we have available here in Summit County. It is likely you will find a few deals. For more about our market, you might check some of my other recent posts with Summit County real estate market reports.
