Flu shot info for Summit County, Colorado September 2009

Sep 18, 2009 | 2 Comment

Getting my flu shot this year was more diffiuclt than usual, so I thought I would pass the information along just in case you are planning on getting your immunization soon.

Safeway is requiring appointments, so don’t bother just walking in.   They won’t do it without an appointment, despite the fact that their sign says that no appointment is needed.  The charge  is $28.  Their phone number is 970-668-5144.

City Market in Dillon only does flu shots weekdays, between 11am and 1pm and they charge $25.  If you want to walk in when you have the time available, do what I did and head to the new Walgreens store, just downhill from City Market in Dillon.  They take you right away, are friendly and helpful and the charge is $24.99.

As this is September, Swine flu vaccinations are not yet available, but I will go back to Walgreens for that one too.

Thanks for posting this info! It’s hard to believe – I called our doctor’s office at High Country Healthcare in Frisco and they aren’t going to be getting the swine flu vaccine and only EXPECTING to get the regular flu vaccine mid October…according to the receptionist…c’mon people…get with the program!

  2. Hi Tricia, I heard yesterday that the Community Clinic, who was offering flu shots for $15, is out of the vaccine. It looks like one of the three places above are the only ones who have a supply. Thanks for letting us know about High Country Health Care. I plan on getting the swine flu vaccine too, once the people who really need it have it.
