Help your Summit County condo complex recycle

Feb 3, 2009 | No Responses

empty bottlesDo you see items in the dumpster that you know should be recycled?  Cardboard, bottles and cans, all going to the landfill when they should be reused or recycled.  If you live in a condo or townhome complex in Summit County, you probably see it frequently.  All too often our guests and visitors are not aware that they can recycle, and are too busy vacationing to care.  Locals often don’t have the space to store their cans, bottles and plastics until they have enough for a trip to the recycling center.

You can play an active role in getting your HOA to participate in a  new pilot program to increase recycling in multi-family dwellings.  For 6-8 months, your complex can have free recycling with you acting as a liason between the HOA, residents and recycling pickup.  The High Country Conservation Center is looking for participants.  Applications must be in by April 24, 2009 and can be filled out online.  Contact HC3 at 970-668-5703 or  info@highcountryconservation.org.    Volunteer to help out, and get a couple of free, reusable grocery bags from us.  Just let us know what you are doing and we will get them to you.   Do your part to keep Summit County green!  Thanks for your help; we really do appreciate it.
