Real Estate Market

We Love Mountain Living!

Out with the old, in with the new.

Another year is behind us.  It's amazing how fast the time goes!  Our market has been steadily climbing out from the lows of the recession.  But, believe it or not, the Summit County market seems to have leveled out a little in 2016; not in all categories but it has leveled out in the number of sales.  Perhaps that is because inventory levels are so low and buyers cannot find a property to buy.  Or maybe things are beginning to settle down a little bit.  Only time will tell.  Read our recent blog post and read more of the statistics from 2016.

Winter Events

Winter is in full swing in the mountains.  The snow keeps coming and we are loving it! Time your next ski trip with one of the upcoming events and double your fun.

Budweiser International Snow Sculpture Championship
Sculpting will be going on this week, the 24th thru 28th, and the judging and viewing happens the 28th through Februray 5th.

There is a full moon around both February and March 11th.  Look for coordinated dinners or nighttime skis and snowshoe hikes around the county.  Many of these fill up fast so book soon.  If you miss the coordinated event, consider planning your own night under the full moon with friends.

Wanna try something different?  How about a fat bike race at night?  Winterbike happens February 18th at Copper Mountain.  Rent a fat bike or take your own.  Don't forget your helmet equipped with a headlamp!

Mardi Gras events will be happening all around town on February 28th.  Enjoy a free concert and a gumbo cook off in Keystone or parade and party in Breckenridge to name a few.

Events are happening almost every weekend all winter long.  These are just a few.  Come on out and have some fun!

If you want to park on Main Street in Breckenridge you've got to pay.

In an effort to eliminate long term parking happening on town streets, the town of Breckenridge has rolled out pay parking.  Main Street as well as surrounding roads now have parking meters requiring registering your license plate and/or payment.  Rates vary based on location but generally the first 15 minutes are free, although you do need to register your plate.  You don't need to have change in your pockets to feed the meters these days but you will need to have a credit card or have a smart phone with the Passport Parking Mobile Pay App installed and payment set up within the app.  The mobile app offers great features like adding time from your phone and storing all your license plates.

The feedback I have heard so far is all positive.  There are more parking spaces available on Main Street making finding a spot much easier.  The app makes it easy to pay and rates are reasonable.
