Summit County condo rentals need to have hot tubs

Many who buy Summit County homes and condos use them as rental properties when they are not occupying them as their own vacation homes.  Rentals have been more difficult to get since the recession started and only the best properties are having good occupancy rates.  That means to get the greatest amount of rental income, your vacation home should been updated, have a good location and most of all, have access to a hot tub.  Management companies tell me that they get 20-50% fewer rentals when there is no hot tub available.  Others won’t even take the condo on their rental program.  

Does that mean you have to have your own hot tub?  In a single family home or duplex you probably do.  But with a condo or townhome, if there is one in the condo complex, that is probably sufficient.  Personally, I never use a hot tub, but when I go on a ski trip with friends and I am in charge of finding lodging, they want a condo with a hot tub every time.  Sometimes they don’t even use it, but they always want access to one.
